Hello. My name is Alison, I run the page Gowns for precious Angels UK and Precious Angels layettes
I have an angel baby son David, and am a Nanna to an angel Granddaughter, Faye, and Grandson Alex.
I started knitting little angel items at first after the birth of my Granddaughter, she was given a beautiful little knitted gown, lovingly made and donated to the hospital. It was such a lovely thing to have as we wouldn’t have been able to buy something for her due to her size, and it 
made me want to help make sure that everyone in my daughters situation should have something special for their baby.
After getting involved a lot more with the Angel baby community, I became aware of the beautiful gowns being made by different groups from donated wedding dresses. They inspired me so much and I started my own page in August 2016, making just gowns at first but I have had some ideas along the way.
” A piece of my heart ”
These are designed so that one half can stay with baby, and the parents keep the other . Just a tiny link to always have with your baby.
” Loving memory hearts”.
These are mainly asked for in our memory packs, and have a ribbon hanger so you can use as a keepsake,
Both of the heart packs come with a poem I wrote myself, with a certificate of life attached, particularly suited for babies under 24 weeks.
” Comfort Cushions ” ( For brothers and sisters )
These are for siblings who may be struggling to understand and come to terms with the loss of a baby brother or sister, one side has a little pocket to keep special things in, maybe a photo, or trinket, and a fluffy side for snuggling .
We also now have our Mum bracelets, kindly donated by Cathy which contain a small amount of lace left from making babies gown , providing another little everlasting link , which is so important.
With so much help now from the wonderful ladies who knit and crochet, we are able to supply funeral layettes designed to bereaved parents wishes, they can have as much input as they would like in to style, colour, lace, ribbon etc .
The knitted and crocheted items also enable us to send full packs to hospitals and funeral directors around the country, including the smallest size gestation who I make cribs and Angel pockets for. So I would like to add a massive thank you to our ladies . They really are the best !

She made my baby girl the most beautiful gown, cosytoes and heart pillow from one of my best friends wedding dress. She also made my other girls a keepsake pillow each from the same material so they could have a connection with their sister. She even makes the most beautiful tiny cribs for early losses and will go out of her way to make everything perfect and just as you want it. So thoughtful and kind and she expects nothing in return. She even attended my daughters funeral.
I’d love her to be considered, she really deserves some recognition for the amazing things she does.

Alison is such a wonderful lady, she takes the time to help mums and their friends deal with their situation and genuinely wants to help each and every family who unfortunately need her services. Alison is always at the other end of a message and cares about each angel baby she makes a gown for and for each parent who needs a memory pack, all without asking for thanks!
I’m a grandparent to four little angels that my daughter sadly lost.
I crochet little blankets for the packs she makes for hospitals etc it’s my way of dealing with my grief.
Alison is doing a great job and its a comfort, for a great many parents, it means a lot.
She deserves to get the recognition for the service she is doing and is getting busier and busier as time goes on.
I cant thank this lady enough!!! She made the most perfect dress for my baby girl and made her look like a princess for her funeral day. Even when the dress went missing in the post she made mia a new dress straight away and got the dress deleivered to me in 24hours to ensure my princess had her perfect dress. Aswell as the drsss she sent me so much more things i will cherish forever! A stocking i can hang up at christmas in memory of my beautiful daughter, a butterfly braclet for mia and one for me with mias fabic from the dress attached which i wear every single day. Aswell as all of this. She was kind, caring and really helped me through the hardest time of my life. This lady 110% deserves this. We can all only thank her so much but for her to win would really show how much we really do appricate everything. Thank you alison you deserve this and more xxx
I am a mum to Kevin and Rachel along with Paul,Alison and Debbie who are angel babies.sadly when I needed it there was no one like Alison out there bringing comfort when needed.Alison is truly an angel is disguise.i am also proud to be one of the knitters Alison talks about.
Alison is truly amazing
When our Angel Baby died, we didn’t have much to remember him by. I contacted this charity and their friendliness and kindness to my messages helped, as I felt that they understood our breaking heart too. We have their keepsakes on display on our memory shelf of our baby. The bracelet is something physical I hold onto whenever I feel down wherever I am.

This lady is simply the most caring lady I have met . She gives of her time selflessly and makes all of her items with love and from the heart.
I contacted Alison when my Grandson sadly passed away earlier this year. Alison made us so many special things , from a piece of my heart, to comfort pillows, teddies and beautiful key rings. These items have helped to bring comfort, and also a sense of closure . It felt very therapeutic to be able to place the other halves of the hearts in with our dear Grandson.
Alison thoroughly deserves to win this award. She is one wonderful lady .
Alison is an Angel on earth. She selfishly helps so many people and Angel babies. She so deserves this prize. I donated my wedding dress and now have a cushion made from my dress .
A great idea and a wonderful person
I lost my baby at 14 weeks in 1998 and due to both the nature of the miscarriage and the lack of support available at the time I walked away with a very empty feeling. After hearing the amazing work that Alison has done to help families in their time of need I did not hesitate to donate my wedding dress to her and the dresses which were made were absolutely beautiful. Thank you x
Alison gives her time selflessly and the things she makes like the tiny gowns and the hearts etc are all specially and lovingly created as are the little cots. She manages to keep in touch with us, despite being so busy. I lost my own baby over 50 years ago and when she found out she made me hearts and a bangle etc. It meant a great deal, which is why so many if us like to help with knitting etc. She deserves recognition for all the work she does.
